The Rev. Deborah Magdalene (Mother Mag) grew up in Fullerton, CA and came to Humboldt as a freshman in 1970. After a career as a Speech Pathologist, she entered the Episcopal Order of St. Helena, where she stayed, as a professed sister, for the next 9 years. 

Mtr. Mag was ordained priest at St Alban’s Episcopal Church in Augusta, GA, near one of the three Convents of St. Helena, on Dec 5, 2009. 

She was the Priest-in-Charge, then Rector, of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, NY from 2012-2020, when she retired to Humboldt County. She is thrilled to volunteer her services at St. Alban’s, where she has found her new home.

Mtr. Mag has two grown children and two grandchildren .
